Dale Gray is a Maryland-based composer with a love of Catholic liturgical music and music engraving, and with interests in audio visual works and the emotional effects of tonality.

From an early age, Gray always was fascinated by music and started piano lessons when he was five. At age twelve, he began playing at his church, St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Crofton, MD where he continued piano study along with accompanying, arranging, composing, directing, and playing the organ. This prepared him for many hobbies and fun ventures from organ building and organ playing to composing, which led him to UMBC.

Dale had a very fruitful time in college as a Music Composition major at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where he received the Linehan Artist Scholarship. While in college, he composed eight compositions that were included in student recitals and two were selected to be included in the Honors Recital. In 2021, a trio of Juliard graduates, Strata, premiered Iridescence and, in 2022, the Thalea String Quartet premiered WandererIn addition to these works, Dale has actively composed popular liturgical music and has released three EPs available at www.dalejgray.com as well as selling a growing catalogue of his sheet music here.

In 2020 and 2021 Dale completed an internship with Worship NOW, a Catholic publishing company. During his internship he engraved over 200 hymns which were published in the Worship NOW hymnal and online. He got to work on scores by Matt Maher, Sarah Kroger, PJ Anderson, the Vigil Project and many more. You can see some of his work on www.worshipnowpublishing.com

His many duties include helping to planning, teaching, and directing music at the two Sunday morning Masses; as well as directing a Liturgical choir of 4th-8th grade students at the regional school connected to St Pius Church.
